The single-storey cottages are converted outbuildings, re-clad in the original elm to retain their rustic character.
They are rated 4-star.
Each cottage sleeps 3 people.
Each cottage comprises:
- Kitchen/diner/lounge
- Main bedroom with one super king-size bed (6 ft wide). The bed can be split to make two single (3 ft wide) beds (please ask us in advance)
- Second bedroom with one single bed (3 ft wide)
- Bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin
The cottages are small but well-equipped, including electric hob and oven, fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster; TV with freeview, DVD player, radio/CD player; small library of local guidebooks, fiction and DVDs; electric heating. Wifi is available in both cottages.
Linen and towels provided.
Cot available on request (please ask us in advance).
Washing machine and tumble dryer available (shared use).
Well-behaved pets welcome.
No smoking in the cottages.
Accessibility: Outside: there are two steps to the front door, for which ramps are available on request. There is ample parking close to the cottages on a flat paved driveway. Inside: the cottages are single-storey, with level floors and wide doorways throughout. Stepping into and out of the shower cubicle can be difficult for some people with limited mobility, although our new shower cubicles are larger and and have a handrail, as well as a portable shower seat. We have a raised toilet seat with arms available on prior request. If you have any queries, please contact us to discuss your requirements - we are always keen to help.
The gardens are available for guests’ use, and include seating areas, kitchen garden, wildflower area, lawns and flowerbeds, bird-feeding stations.
At the end of the garden is a view over Sturminster Newton Mill, the River Stour and the countryside beyond.
Dogs are welcome on a lead in the garden, and can run off the lead in the nearby fields (although a lead may be needed part of the time,as sheep/cows are sometimes in residence). Dogs have been the only pets to visit so far, but other small pets are also welcome by prior agreement.
We are keen to be environmentally and wildlife-friendly. 
We were delighted that in 2014 the cottages were awarded the Wyndham Green Award for sustainability, certified by the Green Tourism Business Scheme .
Our garden has been recognised as wildlife-friendly by the Dorset Wildlife Trust. We have planted flower borders with nectar-rich flowers for butterflies and other insects; we have many bird nesting boxes and feeders; by summer 2019 we 
hope to have a wildflower patch and bog garde
